AWE’S PURPOSE

To provide support services for the aged, ill or disabled, including personal care, housekeeping, meals, nursing services, shopping assistance, and transportation to medical appointments

To provide respite services to persons caring for the aged, ill or disabled.

To do such thing as are ancillary and incidental to the furtherance of the above noted purposes.


PRINCIPLES

  • Open to all organizations and individuals
  • Multi-partnership in addressing issues impacting on ageing
  • Balanced by Representatives from Industry, Government and Professions
  • Fairness to give consideration to all views and precludes conflicts of interests
  • Voluntary in development and implementation
  • Practical, in addressing health care issues
  • Timely, to keep pace with technological change and effectively meet current needs

 


OUR VISION

  • To improve the health of community members.
  • To contribute to community development by providing a set of required health, social and community services.

DEFINITION

  • AWE is a community service organization run by volunteers
  • The society is an administrative governed organization
  • The Board of Directors are elected from within the community
  • The society provides primary health and health promotion programs for individuals, families and the community.
